An ongoing poetic mapping of the Cairngorm and White Mounth inspired by local placenames and their meanings, sourced from Adam Watson & Elizabeth Allan’s detailed survey, The Place Names of Upper Deeside, with new English versions of the names by Alec Finlay, and walks by Alec Finlay and Gill Russell.

Special areas of interest include river systems, ecological mappings,  shielings, bothies and dwellings. The final outcome will include a book and series of artworks designed for the Fife Arms Hotel, Braemar. The project is commissioned by Hauser & Wirth.
